United Airlines: I try to like them...I really try!

Dear friends that come around to read my blog, this time I'll drop only a few lines about how risky and shity is to travel with American Air companies. Passed 28th of July I've been in the charming city of Chicago for a Pathologist's congress. Everything was very nice except with United Airlines that was definitely a perfect compendium of how NOT to be, how NOT to work and how NOT to treat people that pay a very reasonable amount of money to travel with them. After delaying my flight more than 12 hours, United gave me 10US$ to pay all the meals I had to make from 9:00pm to 9:00am (TEN DOLLARS for dinner and breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Then they gently offer me a reimbursement voucher to pay the hotel BUT I had to find myself an hotel for 40 US$ (equal to the amount of the voucher) in my very first time in Chicago!! You know what? Because they didn't want to open the VIP Lounge everyone ended sleeping just in front the boarding gate: elderly people and even children!!(I guess the delay of the flight was our fault!). To compensate all the problems United caused to its passengers they offered us a United Certificate that granted special discounts in future United flights...It sounds like they sold you a piece of shit and than, because you complain about that, they offer you a very special discount when you buy a second piece! When you read about all the problems that american airlines are facing, with episodes like this you start to understand the reason why...Globalization gives you the chance to compete worldwide but also the responsibility to make better products to survive on such challenging conditions - United for sure is only focused on the first part of the phrase. From now on, I'll fly to United States only with non-american air companies: you never know if such kind of surprise is saved for you by American Airlines or Us Airways. See you soon mighty fellows!
